This year's competition attracted the participation of 9 teams of athletes from communes and wards in the province, with more than 250 athletes who are elderly members. The athletes competed in 4 sports: volleyball, chess, badminton, and walking. The Organizing Committee divided the competition into age groups, ensuring suitability for the physical condition of the elderly, helping athletes compete safely and effectively, promoting sportsmanship, solidarity, and mutual learning.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, a representative of the Organizing Committee emphasized: The Elderly Sports Competition is an annual event with significant importance in maintaining and developing the mass sports movement among the elderly. Through this competition, members have the opportunity to meet, interact, and exchange experiences in health training, while contributing to spreading a positive spirit of living happily, healthily, and usefully for their families and society. At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented commemorative flags to the participating teams, showing recognition, encouragement, and motivation for the teams to achieve high results, while strictly adhering to the regulations and rules of the competition. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competitions officially took place in a lively, exciting, and enthusiastic atmosphere. The athletes participated with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, and sportsmanship, delivering many exciting matches that attracted the attention and enthusiastic support of a large audience. In particular, in events such as chess and volleyball, many athletes demonstrated their technique, experience, and competitive spirit, leaving a positive impression. The 6th Dien Bien Province Senior Citizens' Sports Festival in 2025 is not only a beneficial and healthy playground for the elderly but also contributes to promoting the movement "All citizens practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh," building grassroots cultural life, strengthening community cohesion, and promoting the role of the elderly in society.
