The New Rice Celebration of the Si La people is recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage

On the morning of December 12, the People's Committee of Muong Nhe commune held a ceremony to announce the decision and receive the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Certificate "New Rice Celebration of the Si La people" and organized the 2025 New Rice Celebration Festival in Nam Sin village.

In Dien Bien province, the Si La people have been living concentrated in Nam Sin village, Muong Nhe commune since 1973. Initially, there were only a few villages. 10 households, by November 2025 the village has 58 households, with 238 people.

At the ceremony, representatives of the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT&DL), leaders of Muong Nhe commune announced Decision No. 1660/QD-BVHTTVL of the Ministry VHTT &DL on recognizing the New Rice Celebration of the Si La people, Nam Sin village, Muong Nhe commune and awarding the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Certificate "New Rice Celebration of the Si La people" to the cultural heritage subject.

Representing the community, Mr. Ly Hong Son, Head of Nam Sin village, expressed his honor and pride when the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism recognized the National Intangible Cultural Heritage for the Celebration.
