Hill F (named Mont Fictif by the French) is located immediately to the east of Hill A1. Along with Chay Hill, Hill F played a crucial role in enabling the Vietnamese People's Army to control and occupy Hill A1. Many Vietnamese soldiers bravely fought and sacrificed their lives here, which is why the Vietnamese army called these two hills "death zones." On March 13, 2021, Dien Bien province commenced construction of the "Martyrs' Memorial at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield" on the Hill F historical site. After construction, the project was inaugurated on May 18, 2022, and opened to serve the needs of remembrance, gratitude, and spiritual and cultural activities for the people and tourists. The overall space of the Martyrs' Memorial at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield covers nearly 50,000 square meters, designed in traditional architecture with three main spaces: an introductory space; a memorial space; and a spiritual space. Interspersed between spaces are transitional pathways.

The Martyrs' Memorial at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield on Hill F is an impressive architectural work, winning the special prize at the 3rd National Urban Planning Award. The structure is not only a place to commemorate and honor the martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the People, but also a place that expresses profound historical, cultural, and national spirit meanings; a significant site for educating patriotism and national pride for present and future generations; and has become an indispensable destination in the journey of gratitude, sightseeing, and experiencing the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.
